When the temperatures start dropping, it doesn’t mean things slow down in Piedmont Park! Piedmont Park may be known for its summer festivals and events, but there are some fantastic fall happenings, complete with food, fun, and without the 100 degree temps (woo hoo!)
Foliage
Quite possibly the most intriguing fall occurrence at Piedmont Park is the changing of the leaves and the absolutely stunning fall foliage. Whether you are overlooking the water, strolling down the walking trails, or having a Sunday picnic to enjoy the fall breeze, the trees turning create a spectacle from every angle!
Pride Festival
With the largest pride festival in the Southeast, Atlanta Pride returns to Piedmont Park each October following National Coming Out Day. Celebrate diversity and community during a three-day (or even week-long) extravaganza with live entertainment, cultural exhibits, the famed Pride parade and Marketplace featuring more than 200 vendor booths, as well as tons of restaurant and nightlife promotions. Other events taking place during Atlanta Pride Weekend are the Pride Car and Motorcycle Show, Dyke March, and Trans March. Wrap up the weekend with the Atlanta Pride Parade, a march through the heart of the city, filled with gorgeous costumes, floats, music and more!
2019 Atlanta Halloween Half Marathon & 5K
The Atlanta Halloween Half Marathon & 5K features 13.1 & 3.1 miles of costume fun! This event is more
about fun than anything else. Get into the spirit of the event and run in a wacky costume. The start and finish area will take place at Piedmont Park. While it’s not mandatory to run in costume, it definitely makes it more fun! This event is open to all abilities of runner and walker, both adults and children. Recruit your friends, family members and co-workers! The “Teams of 4 or More” registration option allows people to register as a team. Each team member will receive a $5 discount.
